This is a project that allows to shred PET plastic and produce eco-bricks, to use for building houses or community centres, anywhere in the world.
About the project
The Eco-bricks project has been originally developed by Fundación Ecoinclusion, an Argentinian NGO that found a patent on mixing shred plastic, sand and glueing material to assemble eco-bricks and decided to use it for building houses and community centres in vulnerable communities.
Impact and Main Outcomes
Can community centres and public sector building be built with eco.bricks? Can bricks factories be involved in programs that use their existing infrastructure to make the bricks, reducing production costs, while employing women and youth from vulnerable contexts?
Eco-bricks can up-cycle plastic into bricks to build the places for any local community to connect and grow.
